Courage Produces Potential

Faith and courage go hand in hand. Courage means having a positive outlook with an accompanying action of boldness. It is not necessarily the absence of fear [Joshua 1:6-9, 18]. God gave Joshua and Caleb His promises, but they had to fulfil certain conditions. When spying out the land it was not enough for them to make a decision to inherit God's promises, they had to be courageous.

The same applies to us today. Have the courage to confront the giants in your life and destroy they by the power of the Word. Only then will you be able to enter the Promised Land. It's important to note that the Promised Land is not a type of heaven but God's promise of victory here on earth because there are no giants in heaven that need to be conquered.

1 Samuel 17 gives the attributes of a courageous person - Courage remembers past victories (verse 34, 55); courage stands on what God's Word says rather than what the circumstances look like (verse 37, 45 & 46); courage does not use weapons of carnal warfare, (verse 38-40) but spiritual ones. Courage confronts and defeats the enemy (verse 47 & 48) and destroys it (verse 51).

We have a covenant with God; we are a royal priesthood hand-picked by God. Victory is our heritage. Courage grows as our faith does - courage is the spark that ignites your potential.
