Anointing Needs Responsibility

"O God, you are my God; early will I seek you; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory." Psalm 63:1-2 [NKJV]
This Psalm reiterates our total dependence on God. Even as focused as David was, he succumbed to lust. He remained in his palace instead of leading his army under the anointing. Sin has consequences. We know that he paid severly for his sin but was truly repentant - He turned to God in aguish. David captured the reality of the pain (and shame) of his sin, his repentance and God's glorious restoration in his writings. Psalm 69:1-14 [NKJV]
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties. And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139: 23-24 [NKJV]
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 [NKJV]
Failure is not an event but a judgement of an event. It isn't fatal; God never gives up on you - He will never leave you nor forsake you! Repent, and use it to grow and learn from it. Use it to help and encourage others.
