JESUS STANDS KNOCKING

Rev. 3:20 "Behold I stand at the door and knock..."

A man married and two weeks later he was called up for war. He was captured and spent three years in a concentration camp but dreamt of returning to his wife. But when he was released, he returned only to find his wife with someone else. He couldn't just step into the marriage he left. His wife had to make a choice even though the husband was willing to forgive her. The wife chose to return to her first love and explained how the second person had deceived and abused her. Forgiveness gave her back her strength and dignity.

This scene is enacted daily by thousands of people; only they're oblivious of the source of deceit and abuse. Jesus is coming back for His Bride; although He's willing to forgive, He won't impose His will on you. Jesus wants to be your friend, protector and provider (Luke 12:36).

John 14:16,17 (NKJ) "And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever - the Spirit of Truth, when the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him or knows Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you."

When you open the door of your heart to Jesus, He comes in and recreates you (2 Cor. 5:17-22; Rom 5:17-21). Jesus dines with us (Acts 2:46,47) and renews His covenant (Heb 8:6).

1 John 1:9 (NKJ) "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
